Outside the window, spring is here.

Vest - New Look | Necklace - George at Asda | Jeans - Topshop | Belt - Tammy

Accessorising this look with a big huge plaster - I wore this outfit to go and give blood on Sunday. I don't really know how I manage to give it as I'm really squeamish - I can't even watch hospital dramas - but it doesn't really bother me.

The belt is from Tammy years and years ago, my mum bought it when I was about twelve and I pinched it from her a few years ago. I absolutely love it though, its an absolute wardrobe essential. Did anyone else used to be obsessed with Tammy when they were a tween. I remember being about 11 years old and having so many of those t-shirts with contrast sleeves with a silly picture printed on the front.

Has it been really sunny where anyone else is today? I ventured out on my lunch break at work and couldn't believe how warm it was. It's got me really looking forward to summer.

What I Bought

Just a quick what I bought post. I've been on a bit of a shopping ban lately because I've got a full years worth of car insurance to pay this month. I couldn't resist a quick trip to the retail park last night though. I'm off to Cyprus in May for two weeks so I'm stocking up on bikinis now. The pink one is from George at Asda and the black one is from Matalan, I'm not so keen on the pink one on though. The grey t-shirt is from Primark, I actually bought it a few weeks ago but haven't worn it yet. It's from the mens section, I usually prefer mens t-shirts to ladies ones as the designs are a bit more edgy. The aztec print vest is from New Look and I'm really loving it. I don't really buy a lot from New Look, nothing ever really catches my eye but this hit me as soon as I walked in the door. It'll be appearing in an outfit post pretty soon.

We built these paper mountains

Dress - George at Asda | Belt - Primark | Bag - Charity shop

Please excuse the crappy quality of the first two photos - I just could not get a good snap of myself. I really wanted to share this bag though, one of my friends from uni found it in a charity shop but never used is as its too small to fit all her stuff in so she decided to give it to me. To be honest I've hardly used it either and I have no idea why as it's lovely. I think my problem is that I can never be bothered to move my stuff from one bag to another, which is silly really because I have so many lovely bags that I never use. I think I'll make that my resolution for March - to get some use out of the rest of my bag collection.

Sleeveless Shirt DIY

Last Sunday I went shopping and fell completely in love with this sleeveless shirt from Topshop. Although £26 is perfectly reasonable for a shirt for some reason Topshop makes me incredibly stingy, so much of the stuff is overpriced that I always have to scuttle off down the road to Primark for a cheaper alternative. Unluckily Primark didn't really have a lot to offer, at least not until I spotted their sale section when I was on my way to the till. I never really think to check out the Primark sale - it's cheap enough already but a checked shirt caught by eye so I wandered over. Unluckily this shirt had sleeves but it was pretty much the same checked pattern as the Topshop one. I can deal with sleeves I thought, they can easily be removed. So I bought it, for only £3 how could I say no.

The Topshop version didn't have studs but I added them anyway as I can't seem to resist studding things at the moment.

Cotton Candy

Jacket - George at Asda | T-shirt - H&M | Jeans - eBay | Necklace - Miss Selfridge

I bought these jeans from eBay this week and am actually a bit disappointed with them. After picking them up from the Royal Mail today (don't you just hate those 'sorry we missed you' notes) I got them home all excited to try them on and found they were about four inches too long. The description on eBay said they were a 28 inch leg, which is perfect for me being only 5ft2, they were definitely not a 28 inch leg. So I cracked my tape measure out and it turns out the leg is almost 33 inches! I was going to get dead annoyed and send them back but apart from the length they fit really well - so I've just turned the bottoms up and am going to wear them as ankle grazers. I'm not really sure why I've taken such a liking to pastel jeans but I could actually buy a whole rainbow of shades, which isn't like me at all - I usually can't get enough black and grey in my wardrobe. Ah well, its nice to mix things up a bit sometimes.

17 BB Cream Review

First of all, apologies for my absence this week - I've had such a busy one. I've been busy every night this week and haven't had a moment to myself. To top that off I had to go to Leeds for work on Wednesday and set off at 6.30am. On my way home I drove straight past my exit on the motorway and didn't get home until 7pm. The day absolutely killed me, I don't think I've ever been so tired, I'm still recovering now.

Anyway, onto the BB Cream.

I bought this over a month ago and have used it quite a bit. I was going to write a review earlier but I wanted to get a bit more use out of it before I reviewed it. BB stands for Blemish Balm and these creams aim to provide full coverage, correct skin complaints, hide imperfections, even skin tone and protect against UV rays. They've been popular in Asia for a long time but have recently made their way into the UK.

Like a lot of BB Creams this version only comes in two shades, which I was a bit disappointed about as the light shade looked like it would be a bit too dark for my super pale winter skin. The formulation was a lot thinner than I expected though so the colour match was fine for my skin.

On first application this wasn't what I expected at all - I thought it would be a lot thicker than it is as it claims to cover imperfections. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use as much concealer as I usually do but I probably have to use a bit more. I do like the slight shimmer in this product though, it gives a kind of glowy natural look which is lovely. I originally bought this because I thought it would give more of a full coverage than the foundation I usually wear - a natural look wasn't really what I was originally after.

The cream feels really light on my skin - I've been wearing it on good skin days, where I don't feel like I need to cover up so much. I usually use MaxFactor Xperience Weightless Foundation, which I find isn't weightless at all, it feels a bit sticky on my skin. The BB Cream provides a nice break from this. I think this foundation would be great in the summer or on holiday when you don't want something heavy on your face.

The foundation on my face - sorry for the terrible image quality.

All in all I do really like this foundation, but not as a BB Cream. I've been mixing it with what I usually wear for a more glam look as the combination of the two gives me a bit of a shimmer without compromising on coverage. Unfortunately this product doesn't do what it says on the tin - it definitely doesn't provide full coverage and is much more of a good skin day foundation than an everyday foundation but I do like the way it makes my skin look. I'm not sure I'd buy it again but that's because I like experimenting with foundations - I'm still searching for something brilliant.

I can't imagine all the people that you know.

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters | Playsuit - New Look | Necklaces - Topshop

My boyfriend bought me this cardigan for Christmas, we decided to both buy each other a really jazzy jumper and this is what he came up with. I absolutely love it, it has a small hole in the shoulder but I really don't want to send it back incase I can't get another one. I feel like I need to wear it with something plain though because I'm a bit scared of mixing prints.

I've had a lovely weekend this weekend - I'm loving just working Monday to Friday. On Saturday me and my boyfriend had a day out, we went for a pub lunch then drove to Seal Sands to see the seals. Unfortunately the tide was right in so we didn't see any. I always forget theres somewhere to see such amazing wildlife so close to home - I'd love to go more often because it's amazing when you do actually see the seals, they just sit sunbathing on the shore. We went to Whitby after that and it was absolutely freezing so we spent the evening sat in a pub and then got a takeaway when we got home.

I'll find you that French boy.

Vest -Primark | Crop Top (worn underneath), Necklace, Jacket - Miss Selfridge | Shorts - DIY

I wore this to go out for a meal with my friends tonight, one of them I haven't seen since Christmas so it was lovely to catch up. We went to Central Park in Middlesbrough, the food was gorgeous but the service was absolutely terrible. We waited for ages to have our order taken, and then to have our plates cleared when we'd finished, and then for our dessert order to be taken and then for the bill. Needless to say they didn't get a tip, I always feel dead stingy not giving one but it really was rubbish.

I DIY'd these shorts myself, they do make me look a bit pear shaped though. I like these better than the last pair I did cause these are more high waisted. I used triangular studs too instead of square ones which I think look much better - the pattern is more even although you can't see it from the photos. I wanted to go a bit more crazy with the studs but my fingers were starting to get really sore. I'll have to add more when they get better.

Just want to say hi to my new followers - I actually can't believe anyone wants to read my ramblings!

My Unwanted Beauty Box

I saw this idea on Lauren's blog and knew I needed to have a go. Laurens idea was to create a beauty box full of unwanted items each month and use them all month to use them up. My room is completely cluttered with beauty products that I never use but I hate to see them go to waste, so in an attempt to clear out my cluttered bedroom (I have 16 tubes of moisturiser sat under my bed - seriously, who needs 16?) I'm loading a selection of items I barely use and want rid of into a box and aim to use them up thoughout February.

So, what's in my box:

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Crystal Hold Hairspray

A bottle of hairspray that I hardly ever use, I know its for blonde hair but it sprays clear. I used to have blonde hair about two years ago and this came in a set that I was given as a gift - I can't believe its been hanging round my bedroom for two years. Not much to say about this, its just hairspray, not a particularly good one but not a bad one either. This is nearly empty so should be gone in a few days time.

Champneys Spa Indulgence Bubble Heaven

I was given this for Christmas in a set and have put it in the box simply for the reason that it smells gorgeous and I can't wait to use it. I've already used up the shower gel from the same kit and it was so moisturising - I'm hoping this will be the same.

Dead Sea Spa Magik Shower Gel

This came in a Glossybox a few months ago and I want rid of it simply because I don't like the smell. It's only a miniature so it should be gone soon.

Umberto Gianni Overnight Beauty Moisture Balm

This is a leave in conditioner and I don't think I've even used it once. I'm always scared that these kind of things will make my hair greasy. This came in a set with a shampoo and conditioner which were both lovely so lets hope this is lovely too.

Mark Hill Diamond Shine Spray

Another product which has never been used, I never think that these kinds of products actually do that much. It can't hurt to try it though and again it's only a small bottle which shouldn't take too long to get through.

N-Spa Relax Body Milk

This is in the box because I'd already started a quest to get through my many moisturisers and this is the one I decided to use up first. I like this one because its quite a thin formula in a spray bottle so I can just spray it where I want and rub it in rather than having to faff around scooping it out of a tub.

Botanics Pore Perfecting Deep Clean Mouse

I started to use this ages ago but then switched so Lush's Angels on Bare Skin as I needed something more exfoliating. I don't really need to use an exfoliator that often now though so I'm switching back to this in a bid to get rid.

So, thats my box - lets see how many of them I actually use.

Face of the Day - Saturday Night

This is my make up for a Saturday night out. The products I used were;

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer
Max Factor Xperience foundation in Light Ivory
17 BB Cream in Light
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer in Fair
Bourjois Blush in Rose
Liz Collinge Colour Enhancer as a highlighter - this used to be my mums and is ancient, the range isn't sold anywhere now.
Max Factor Masterpiece mascara in Black
Rimmel Soft Kohl eyeliner in Jet Black
Blink and Go eyeshadow palette in 02 - I used the two grey shades
Cargo Lipgloss in Tokyo

I have done a smoky eye here to make the look more 'night time' but I have such hooded eyes and the photo is from quite a low angle so you can't see it that well. Shame cause I was quite proud of them - normally when I wear eyeshadow I look like a little girl who's been playing with her mums make up.

I had a really good night last night - the bits of it I can remember anyway. There was eight of us out and it was lovely having a good catch up. I think I might have gone a bit overboard on the drinking though - apparently I slipped over, hit my head on a table and knocked the drinks on the table over my friends. Ooops.

I just want to say thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post - I start my new job tomorrow, I'm nervous but quite excited too as it's quite different to anything I've done before.

P.S. I've just noticed the clothes peeping out of my wardrobe in the photo - oops haha.

I heard that you like the bad girls.

T-shirt - Topshop | Leggings - George at Asda | Stone Necklace - New Look | Long Necklace - Topshop

I wore this for a lazy Sunday last week and I'm actually wearing it again today, I wanted to wear it with my leather panelled leggings to give the outfit more of an edge but they need an iron and I can't really be bothered to do it.

I can't resist anything with a cross on it so I had to have this T-shirt when I saw it in Topshop, I love the loose fit of this t-shirt, so comfy. The stone necklace was a cheap one from New Look, I think it was £5 in the sale and the stones do look a bit rubbish when you get up close.

Got some exciting news this week - I've got a new job. It's with the same company I work for now but it's a completely different role which will hopefully bring a lot more opportunities.
